Where are you from?

I'm sure, many of us would come across this question.

In those situations, when someone asks me where I'm from? I would say the closest well known place at first, then if the other person is interested, we would go in detail about the exact place.

Today I happened to read an article which touched the serious issue of "Untouchability" in rural India. The article describes an unpleasant incident that happened in a small village where 100 people were arrested. Some police men were attacked and their vehicles were damaged. Eventually they opened fire to get the situation under control

I haven't been to this place in years and since reading this my pride has been shamed.

India is marching towards emerging as a possible economic leader. But it is still sad to note these kind of casteism still exists in some area.
